Maia MCP is different: it's a remote MCP server (Model Context Protocol — the open standard AI assistants use to operate real tools) that gives your AI assistant permissioned hands on your hosting account. The busywork gets automated; when judgment is needed, the same humans who've run MaiaHost since 2006 are one message away.

Connect in three steps
Any hosting plan includes AI access at no extra cost. Your client-area login is all you need — no API keys, no tokens to copy around.
In Claude, open Settings → Connectors, click “Add custom connector”, name it MaiaHost, and paste mcp.maiahost.com as the remote MCP server URL.
Authorize with your MaiaHost client-area username and password, choose which tools to allow, and start asking. Revoke the connection anytime in your portal.

Built like hosting infrastructure, not a demo
Access is authorized through OAuth with your existing client-area login — no API keys pasted into chat windows. Every connection is listed in your portal and can be revoked with one click.
Every request is re-checked on our servers against your account and role — site file access is confined to that site's folder, WordPress commands run as the site owner, and every action lands in an audit log.
See or touch other customers' accounts, act outside the scope you granted, or make billing and payment changes. Sensitive operations stay in the portal.
Developer access covers all domains in your account — run maintenance across every client site from one chat. Per-domain scoping keeps end-client access contained.
FAQ
Is this just another AI chatbot?
No. Maia MCP is a server that gives your existing AI assistant real, permissioned hands on your hosting account — creating mailboxes, updating WordPress, editing DNS. There is no chatbot on our end, and our human support stays human.
Which AI apps does it work with?
It's built and tested for Claude (web and desktop). Because it's a standard remote MCP server with OAuth, other MCP-capable clients such as ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code can connect the same way.
Is it safe? What exactly can the AI touch?
You authorize with your own client-area login — credentials are never pasted into the AI. Every connection is scoped to your account (or a single domain), every action is checked server-side against your role and logged, and it can never see other customers or touch billing and payments. You can revoke any connection in your portal at any time.
What does it cost?
Nothing extra. Maia MCP is included with every MaiaHost hosting plan.
What can't it do yet?
It's under active development — new tools ship often (reconnect the connector to pick them up). Billing, plan changes and a few sensitive operations intentionally stay in the client portal, where a human can help.
